Kitchen Table Transcript is built so that we never see your child's records. This page explains exactly what stays on your computer and what doesn't.

Student records stay in your browser

Everything you enter in the transcript tool, including names, dates of birth, addresses, courses and grades, is saved only in your web browser's local storage on your device. It is not sent to our servers. PDFs and backup files are created on your device as well.

Because of this, we can't recover your records if you clear your browser data or switch devices. Use the Backup tab to save a copy.

Purchases

Payments are processed by Stripe on a Stripe-hosted checkout page. Stripe collects your payment details; we never see your full card number. We receive your name, email address and order details from Stripe so we can issue your license key, provide support and process refunds. Stripe's privacy policy applies to the checkout.

License activation

We store each license key with the purchase email, the related Stripe payment and the browsers it's active in (a short label such as your browser's platform and the date). When you activate Pro, your browser sends the key and that label to our server. If the key is valid, our server sends back the code for the Pro features. Your browser checks the license again about once a week. No student information is included in these requests.

Hosting and logs

The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver pages and protect against abuse. We don't use advertising trackers, and we don't sell personal information.

Children

The tool is meant to be used by parents and guardians. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children, and student details entered by a parent remain on the parent's device.
